On my website and in my communications, you’ll see terms like “bride” and “groom.” When I use these words, I am referring to the traditional roles, behaviours, or placements within the ceremony-for example, the person presenting as groom typically stands at the front awaiting their partner, while the person presenting as bride is the one processing into the wedding ceremony. These terms are simply a starting point for describing the flow of the day and are never meant to define your identity or relationship.
I fully understand that not everyone identifies with these traditional titles, and I am always happy to use the language, pronouns, and terms that feel most authentic to you.
