The Vision Behind the Shot
This close-up portrait showcases a person of contemporary, confident style, with a serious yet subtly smirking expression. Their long, wavy, light brown hair cascades over their shoulders, complemented by subtle makeup that enhances their features. The dark top with a high neckline keeps the focus entirely on the subject, highlighting their commanding presence. My artistic goal was to capture not just an image, but the very essence of the officiant’s role in the ceremony, a blend of formality and genuine warmth that set the tone for Dan and Caroline’s union.

Technical Approach
This particular image was captured in Spring using my trusted Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with the versatile EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens. To achieve a good depth of field while ensuring the subject remained sharp, I opted for an aperture of f/5.6. A fast shutter speed of 1/1000s was employed to freeze any potential movement, critical during a dynamic wedding ceremony. Given the ambient light conditions at Wragg Barn Golf Club, an ISO of 3200 was selected, accepting a slight increase in potential noise to maintain that crucial shutter speed. The focal length of 80.0mm provided a natural perspective, and no flash was needed, allowing the natural light to define the mood. This careful technical execution ensures every detail of your #weddingday is immaculately preserved.
