This evocative image was captured in Winter, using my Canon EOS 90D paired with the incredible 50-100mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art 016 lens. I deliberately set the aperture to f/1.8 to achieve that exquisite shallow depth of field, drawing the viewer’s eye directly to the couple and the officiant, whilst beautifully blurring the background to eliminate distractions. A shutter speed of 1/125s was chosen to perfectly freeze the quiet movement of the ceremony, while an ISO of 1250 ensured crystal-clear imagery even in the church’s natural lighting conditions – no flash was used, preserving the authentic ambiance. The 100mm focal length provided a wonderfully tight and intimate view, allowing for a focused portrayal of this deeply personal moment.
