Introduction: The ‘getting ready’ phase of a wedding day is often a beautiful, intimate period filled with anticipation, quiet reflection, and joyful excitement. It’s where the details come together, and the emotional journey truly begins. This stunning image captures Sophie Franklin, a radiant bride, in her exquisite gown amidst an autumn garden, epitomising the elegant artistry I bring to every #weddingphotography session.
Main Content
Our focus is on narrating your unique love story, preserving cherished memories, and allowing you to relive every detail of your special day. From the delicate off-the-shoulder straps of her white wedding dress to her perfectly styled hair and makeup, and the distinctive bouquet of dried flowers she holds, every element contributes to the visual narrative. Behind her, a building with a glass conservatory and a stone exterior, framed by round bushes and a small flower bed on gravel ground, creates a timeless backdrop. We strive to capture these fleeting moments with authenticity and grace.
The Vision Behind the Shot
This particular shot, taken during autumn, was designed to convey both elegance and the peaceful anticipation of a bride before her vows. The clear umbrella adds a touch of whimsical practicality, while the dried flower bouquet grounds the image in the season’s unique charm. My aim was to isolate Sophie, allowing her radiant presence to truly shine against the rich, natural setting, ensuring the photograph feels both intimate and grand.

Technical Approach
I captured this image using my Canon EOS 90D, paired with the versatile EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens. To achieve a beautiful, relatively shallow depth of field that gracefully isolates the subject, I opted for an aperture of f/4.5. A shutter speed of 1/200s was perfectly sufficient to freeze any motion, ensuring crisp details, while an ISO of 400 kept noise levels to a minimum under the existing autumn light conditions. The 28.0mm focal length provided a wonderfully wide field of view, encompassing the serene garden environment without distortion. No flash was used, allowing the natural light to sculpt the scene authentically.
