The Vision Behind the Shot
My vision for this shot was to encapsulate the unspoken connection between Dan and Caroline, focusing on their unique bond. Using my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with the EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens, I opted for a 105.0mm focal length, ideal for portraiture, to achieve a beautifully compressed perspective. A deliberate choice of f/8 ensured a good depth of field, keeping both subjects in sharp focus, while a fast shutter speed of 1/640s froze any movement. Though ISO 3200 was necessary given the interior lighting conditions, the resulting image retains exceptional clarity and atmosphere, without the need for flash.
