Technical Approach
This image was captured using a Canon Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera and an EF85mm f/1.4L IS USM lens at 85.0 mm. This lens is a favourite for portraiture, offering beautiful compression and the ability to create a lovely shallow depth of field. The settings used were an aperture of f/8 and a shutter speed of 1/160s. The f/8 aperture provided a good depth of field to ensure sharpness across the subject’s face, while the 1/160s shutter speed was ample to capture a sharp image of this posed shot. These choices contribute to the clear, focused, and artistically pleasing result.
