This image was captured using a Canon EOS 90D paired with an EF50mm f/1.4 USM lens. The 50mm focal length is versatile and excellent for portraits. The exposure settings were f/1.4, 1/200, and ISO 0. The wide f/1.4 aperture was chosen specifically to achieve a very shallow depth of field, effectively isolating the subject from the background. The shutter speed of 1/200 was sufficient to freeze any subtle movement. Captured during an afternoon in late spring near Chichester, England, the available light was likely ideal for utilising such a wide aperture. This technical approach directly supports the artistic goal of placing full visual emphasis on Lou.
