Technical Approach
This intimate portrait was taken during winter, using my Canon EOS 90D paired with the exceptional 50-100mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art 016 lens. To achieve that beautiful shallow depth of field, artfully isolating Anna and Matthew, I shot at a wide aperture of f/1.8. A shutter speed of 1/160s was chosen to freeze any subtle motion, ensuring crisp detail. Given the natural light conditions and to maintain image quality while allowing for sufficient speed, an ISO of 1000 was selected. The focal length of 64.0mm provided a perfect mid-range perspective for this heartfelt shot. No flash was necessary, allowing the natural ambiance of the scene to shine through.
